The Interpretations of Color

Discover your Color Signature!  Color plays a powerful role in the expression and interpretation of the universe we inhabit. At different points in my life, I’ve been drawn to certain colors that had not interested me in the past.  Pablo Picasso had his Blue and Rose periods. These series of paintings elicited potent and unique emotional experiences. Picasso painted with moody blues and greens during a time of depression and loss. The Blue period paintings are at times mysterious, disturbing and melancholy.  In contrast, the pinks, reds and warm tones that predominated during his Rose period exemplify love, ambition, courage and rebirth. Experimenting with this lively palette and more playful subject matter, Picasso’s style developed in pivotal ways, ultimately ushering in a new era for the artist himself and for modern painting in general. Color can be viewed as a gateway to creative evolution.

According to Frank Mahnke, “color delivers the main characteristics or quality to design. The color designer creates an ambiance that will produce an optimal impression, that considers the brain’s complex processing of stimulation and all that is connected, with this process for the best and most correct designs, taking the welfare of human reaction into consideration.”

In the enduring spaces of our home or office, meaningful color selection aligns us with frequencies that play an integral and beneficial role in life. Color supports well-being, productivity, happiness, and much more. By the same token, color can affect us adversely, if unconsciously or carelessly applied.

Cultural and social experiences shape our relationship to color but personal responses and associations to color can also be as unique as a fingerprint.  The Core Color Plan guides you in discovering your color signature, which describes the combination of colors you are attracted to. Understanding your color signature empowers you to intentionally design your life and is a tool for both personal fulfillment and collective expression. It can be utilized in any creative endeavor—whether you are decorating a physical space, designing a website or marketing a product.

Our sense of vision influences us 10x more than our other senses. Intellectually we may grasp the power of color, but we are often moved and affected by color in ways that we cannot express verbally or logically. My commitment with the Core Color Plan is to provide you with the knowledge and ability to harness color as a creative force for personal empowerment, productivity and well-being.
